The alternative way seems to be Blundetto’s favorite way to dance. Nourished by Radio Nova’s “Sono Mondiale” since the late 90’s (he spent more than 15 years at the helm of music programming for this Radio Station without any boundaries), his productions have been playing with suburban vibes from Kingston, Cali or Cairo since Bad Bad Things, his first album released in 2010.
After collaborating with Hindi Zahra, Pupajim, Shawn Lee, Courtney John, Biga Ranx ... Blundetto took advantage of these strange couple of years to deviate from the classic song format with his first soundtrack (VTC) and to go deeper into the groove of his collection of instrumentals initiated in 2019 with Cousin Zaka.
An ode to Nature or the nostalgia of a fantasized city, it’s the character of Zaka, the Voodoo Loa (spirit), who gives its protection to this collection inspired by the wonderfully free world of Library Music.
This second volume shows Blundetto’s passion for nature and the mystic of the eco-systems. You’ll hear the realm of a studio placed in the center of a French forest, the chicken ballroom, the daily walks at the rhythm of seasonal transformations of oaks and chestnut trees, the summer wind in the jungle of the vegetable garden responding to vintage keyboards, folk guitars and the silky sound of Mellotron.
Far from the survivalist fads or the delusions of self-sufficiency, this ecosystem breathes and grows from external contributions and inspirations: they’re an essential playground for daydreaming on a sofa. Don’t be surprised if in this Burgundian Garden of Eden you feel the warmth of Brazil (Leonardo Marquez), the jazz dance moves (Laurent Bardainne), the soften attacks of a vibraphone (Touski), the nylon vibrations (Thomas Naïm), the feline strings (Eve Marie Bodet), some low and funky frequencies (Guillaume Farley and Virgilr Lorach) or even the sand blown by the winds of the Grand Canyon (Paul Bouclier).
This ephemeral orchestra is once again directed by Jerome Blackjoy Caron, faithful collaborator and inseparable man in the shadow of the project who mixed and produced this new Blundetto’s album.
